The affected individual is doing well and recovering at home in isolation. All known contacts have been identified and provided with vaccines, also known as PEP (Post Exposure Prophylactic) to minimize the risk and severity of infection. The risk to the general public remains low. Transmission of MPX virus typically occurs through close, personal, and often skin-to-skin contact.
